1. William Golder In Quarter formerly William Golder in Hamilton (abt.1620 - 1669)

William Golder was born probably in Hamilton Parish, Lanark, Scotland. The names of William Golder’s parents have not been identified but it is tentatively suggested here that he may have been the brother of Andrew Golder, tailor in Hamilton, George Golder, Maltman in Hamilton, and Robert Golder, burgess of Hamilton, all three of whom are his near contemporaries in the Lanarkshire burgh town of Hamilton.


Hamilton

It cannot presently be regarded as certain but it is possible that William Golder in Hamilton is the same person as William Golder in Quarter (parish of Hamilton). Marriage

William Golder in Hamilton married Bessie Jenkin before 28 September 1660, the last possible date in which the sasine in which William Golder and his wife are mentioned could have been registered.
